This personal project explores the visual language of modern true crime documentaries through an original title sequence inspired by the story of John Wayne Gacy.
The objective was to create a cinematic opening that builds tension and curiosity using typography, archival-inspired imagery, textures, transitions, and rhythmic editing.
Rather than replicating an existing Netflix production, the project focuses on developing a unique interpretation of the genre while maintaining the dark and suspenseful atmosphere commonly associated with documentary storytelling.
Throughout the sequence, visual elements were carefully designed to evoke mystery and psychological unease, gradually revealing fragments of the narrative through motion, composition, and sound-driven pacing.
This project served as an exercise in title design, storytelling, and motion graphics, combining editorial aesthetics with cinematic animation techniques.
